Winfield was a brood mate of Thaddeus Duncan. While Thad started early
in the footsteps of Justicar Theo Bell and former Justicar Don Cerro,
Gideon took longer to buy into the “family business” because of a strong
sense of independence and individuality.
Gideon developed a reputation as a regulator and troubleshooter for the Brujah. He traveled North America to deal with internal and external clan problems. Brujah locals that have opposed the interference of the nomad are always confronted with brutal violence. Wiser clansmen worked with him to eliminate the problems that attracted his attention in the first place. He has always left the local Brujah in a better position than his arrival, though perhaps fewer in number from time to time.
When Theo Bell learned of the destruction of Thaddeus Duncan and the clan problems confronting his grandchild Tyrese Washington in Saskatoon, Gideon Winfield was his response.

has spent his entire undead existence in Toronto. There he kept mostly to
himself but anyone who visited the small Camarilla enclave in Toronto might
have run into him at Elysium. He is almost never seen without his sunglasses
but the especially attentive might notice a slight glow emanating from behind
the glasses. Other than this, there is nothing about him that draws any special
attention. He’s just an ordinary guy in a suit, easy to forget about or ignore.
Among certain circles he does have a reputation as a top notch investigator and
researcher. Some people might even recall a professor of the same name who
retired due to medical conditions from the University of Toronto about 40 or so
years ago. This professor was a noted expert in early Colonial Period North
American history with many publications to his name.
